BUD-IES for Change
Current Initiatives
As of December 26, 2024, several states are actively pursuing cannabis-related initiatives for upcoming elections. Here's an overview of current efforts:

Arkansas
Proposed Medical Marijuana Expansion: Advocates are working to place an initiative on the ballot that would amend the state's existing medical marijuana law. The proposal seeks to allow patients to cultivate marijuana at home, lifting restrictions on certain smokable products, and enabling telehealth services for medical marijuana consultations.

Idaho
Medical Cannabis Initiative: Efforts are underway to gather signatures for a ballot measure that would legalize medical marijuana in the state. Advocates aim to qualify the initiative for the 2025 ballot, seeking to establish a regulated medical cannabis program for patients with debilitating medical conditions.

North Dakota
Adult-Use Cannabis Legalization: Supporters are collecting signatures for an initiative to legalize recreational marijuana for adults aged 21 and over. If sufficient signatures are obtained, the measure could appear on the ballot in 2025, aiming to regulate the production, processing, and sale of cannabis.

South Dakota
Recreational Marijuana Initiative: Advocates have submitted signatures to place a measure on the ballot that would legalize the possession, distribution, and use of marijuana for adults 21 and older. The initiative has been certified for the 2025 ballot, pending verification of signatures.
